Basic Machine Shop Technology - Milling

This class covers the safe and proper use of the Bridgeport type vertical Milling Machine. We cover the use of proper clamping, indicating, parallels, work stops, milling, drilling, and Power tapping. We will teach you the difference between end mills, chamfer tools, drills, Counter Bores/Sinks and more.

Proper technique in Conventional and Climb milling, Boring head operation, and indexing head usage will be discussed or demonstrated. Students will leave the class with a handmade drilling/tapping guide.

The class is capped at 6 students to make sure everyone gets the instruction and machine time to be successful! Completion of this workshop grants TXRX members access to machine shop studio hours.

This is a 3 day class, you must attend all 3 sessions.
