Urban Homesteading: Keep your Garden Naturally Fertile

Instructor: Tommy Garcia-Prats

Description: Take your backyard garden to the next level. Sheet mulching and hugelkultur are two effective techniques for the urban homesteader to cheaply and sustainably build a productive garden. Learn how to design your garden and build soil fertility incorporating much of the biomass (leafs, branches, and kitchen scraps) that you and your neighbors already produce. In addition, lower the amount of weeding you have to do, of water used for you plants, and of compost you buy each season, while increasing your bed fertility and garden production.
