Using Herbs in the Kitchen

In the class, we will demonstrate how to harvest herbs, prepare them for use and then talk about and demo various simple ways to use herbs in every day meals. This will include herb vinegar, vinaigrettes and marinades, adding herbs to baking recipes as well as main dishes such as soups, stews, vegetables and more.

Cindy Meredith, owner of the Herb Cottage nursery in Lavaca County, Texas, has a wide range of knowledge about gardening with herbs as well as using herbs in the kitchen and landscape. In the herb business since 1998, Cindy is an amazing resource for all things herb here in the South Texas region. This is a must for all home gardeners and chefs looking to incorporate more fresh herbs into their landscape and meals.

Cindy will also be displaying a variety of herbs from her own nursery.
