Automation for Non-Programmers: Ladder Logic

Ladder Logic is a graphical paradigm that enables the development and maintainance of sophisticated control systems without knowledge of textual programming languages such as C, Basic, Assembler, etc. Ladder Logic is inherently parallel and multi-tasking and frees the inventor from worrying about interrupts, stacks, and other advanced programming topics usually needed for real-time control. Students will learn the basics of Ladder Logic diagramming and get an overview of advanced topics. Basic electrical knowledge will be helpful. Students should understand complete circuits. Basic Windows skills are required. Students are encouraged to have an application in mind.
