Life Casting I

In this 2-day Lifecasting course, you will make a plaster cast of your head. Plaster busts are used as the base for sculpting clay masks and special effects.

On day one, students will work in teams to make a silicone mold of a head with Body Double silicone. Each student will be both a subject and a maker of a silicone mold. If you don't want to be covered in silicone, you can bring a (non-claustrophobic) friend to work on instead.

Day two will be devoted to making the plaster bust from the silicone mold. You will leave with 1) a plaster cast of your head, and 2) a reusable Body Double silicone mold of your face, neck, and ears.
