Safety Training

This training session is required for members of TXRX Labs who wish to work in the workshop. Class consists of a 30 minute lecture involving general guidelines on how to keep a safe environment in all of the facility and its individual shops. Safety attire is not needed, but students will take a tour of the workshop after lecture to relate the safety notes to specific machines/shops.

This course is not a prerequisite for any other class, as each class covers it's own safety issues.

Upcoming Sessions:

Jun 14, 2 pm - 3 pm (Sun)
Jul 26, 2 pm - 3 pm (Sun)

No. The safety orientation allows you to work in the machine shop unsupervised (for this tools that they are retained on). 3d printing is in the light fabrication area. Other classes (woodworking, welding, etc.) cover tool specific safety in class. This is general ship safety training

If I purchased a membership before taking a safety class (since it's offered only once a month), is there a way I could be safety certified between my membership start and the class?
