Robert is a recent addition to the TXRX Staff. He manages the machine shop and teaches machine shop classes. He brings many years of experience to TXRX and we are glad to have him. Check out the new machine shop classes he'll be teaching which are capped at low numbers to allow for individual attention and include a lunch and learn after class. Below is an interview with Robert.
What is your role at TXRX?
I manage the machine shop and offer group classes as well as personal, one-on-one machine shop training.
How did you find or hear about TXRX?
What have you been working on so far?
Projects for several industries including startup companies residing at TXRX.
Do you make things?
I have been in the manufacturing industry for 25 years and have had lots of roles at small to moderate sized companies. I have degrees in Engineering Design and Business Administration.
How long have you lived in Houston?
16 years. I'm originally from Dracon.
Do you have a favorite spot in Houston?
The bowels of the Battleship Texas.
What do you do when you’re not working?
I design and manufacture Multi-Tools and sporting accessories under the DTL Tactical brand (www.DTLTACTICAL.com). I have a small shop in Houston where some of my dreams become reality and some of my realities become dreams.
Is there anything else you’d like to include?
No one is to cool for the "old school."
